Coordinated pre-dawn raids by Counter Intelligence Kashmir across Srinagar, Ganderbal, and Anantnag under UAPA investigation led to seizure of digital devices. Multiple residences were searched in connection with FIR No. 07/2023, with officials examining financial records and questioning family members during the ongoing terror-related probe spanning several districts of the Valley.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, Counter Intelligence Kashmir officials launched simultaneous search operations at three separate locations across the Valley. The raids were carried out as part of an active investigation registered under FIR No. 07/2023.
In Srinagar, a team of Counter Intelligence Kashmir officials raided the residence of Riyaz Ahmad at Hokarsar, located near Police Station Shalteng. Ahmad, originally from Dalal Mohalla in Maharaj Gunj, has been residing in Hokarsar for the past sixteen years. During the operation, officials questioned members of his family as part of the investigative procedure.
In a parallel operation, another team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Nisar Ahmad conducted a search at the residence of Syed Qalandar Shah in Chountwaliwar, Lar, in Ganderbal district. Alongside the residential search, the team also examined financial and banking-related documents found at the premises.
A third coordinated raid was carried out at the residence of Gulzar Ahmad Rather in Nowgam, Verinag, Anantnag. Officials identified Rather as an Imam associated with the local Phali Masjid since 2012, and the premises were thoroughly searched during the operation.
Across all three locations, multiple digital devices were recovered and seized by investigating teams. The seizures form part of the ongoing probe registered under FIR No. 07/2023, which includes Sections 153 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code, along with Sections 13, 18-B, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The case is being handled at Police Station JIC CIK Srinagar.
